First Race - First Win!

41 riders set out on historic first ever Moto2 race in Qatar. At the end, 2 Suter-MMX riders were on the podium:
1. Shoya Tomizawa (Technomag-CIP) and 3. Jules Cluzel (Forward Racing)!
With the Italian Roberto Rolfo (Italtrans STR) - 5.Position - and the Swiss Dominique Aegerter (Technomag-CIP) - 11. Position - yet another two Suter-MMX pilots made good points.
The two front-runners from qualifying crashed out in the early stages of Sunday's race when former MotoGP rider Alex de Angelis collided with front-row starter Stefan Bradl (Viessmann-Kiefer) on turn three. Bradl who showed a very strong performance all over the weekend on his powerful Suter machine had to retire through no fault of his own, not being able to avoid the crash.
Japan's 19 year old Shoya Tomizawa clinched a memorable Qatar Commercialbank Grand Prix Moto2 victory when he battled from ninth on the grid to take a four-second win in this night race.

The Frenchman Jules Cluzel, who finished the race in the excellent third place, analysed after the race: "Obviously I’m very happy! It’s perfect to start the championship with a podium. I know that the championship is however long and we are 40 riders, so it’s really important to make points every race and less mistakes possible. During the race I pushed myself to the limit, I tried to do my best to follow Tomizawa, the winner of the race, but after crashing nearly for three times I realised that it would be better to finish in third position. I’m happy and satisfied with the work of my team and feel very comfortable on the bike.”

A superb debut for Suter Racing in the new Moto2 class! A promising beginning. We congratulate the Suter-MMX riders on the good results and are looking forward to the next race in Motegi (Japan), on April 25th
